DAVE THE CHIMP: THE GUY WHO SAVES YOUR VALENTINES DAY

Wondering what to give as a Valentines Day gift this year? Well here’s the perfect solution.

I’ve produced this new lino print, titled “Love You”, to take the hassle out of shopping, giving you more time for love!

The first image is a two colour lino print, only available directly from me. It measures 22 cms x 21 cms, is a signed and numbered edition of only 20, printed on 220 gram paper, and is just 25 Euros (plus 5 Euros shipping)

That’s cheaper than a meal in a fancy restaurant, and it’ll last a whole lot longer than a bunch of flowers!

The bottom image is a special edition version, printed one colour, on 300 gram Hahnmühle watercolour paper, then hand-coloured, so each is a one-off. Some are darker, some lighter, some more textured. Made in an edition of just 10, these will only be available from Nelly Duff on Columbia Road, east London, from the last weekend in January.

I love lino prints. For me, the beauty of lino prints is that, even though the design on each print is the same, the texture of the print varies, so that no two are identical. In this age of perfect digital prints made by robots, it’s nice to see the human hand involved. Or, in this case, the ape’s paw, as all of these are hand-pressed by yours truly! My back is aching, but it’s that healthy feeling of having done some “proper work”. My Dad would be proud 😉

After the success of last year’s Lucky Dip, where many people became proud owners of “Human Bein” paintings (check the photo of all the mail I got!) I decided to repeat this exciting event again this year.

Ausstellung bei Woolwill:

Dave the Chimp Wir sind sehr stolz darauf, euch diesen Monat niemand geringeren als Dave the Chimp präsentieren zu dürfen! Der in Berlin lebende Künstler mit Londoner Wurzeln wird uns vom 20. Juni bis zum 11. Juli beehren. Dave the Chimp ist eine feste Größe in der internationalen Street Art Szene, bekannt für seine intelligenten und humorvollen »Stadtverschönerungen«. Woolwill zeigt eine Auswahl seiner kleinen orangefarbenen Freunde, den »Human Bein’s«. Passend dazu stellen wir euch zwei neue Shirts vor und als besonderes special wird es Rucksäcke, Accessoires und Kleider von Superhorstjansen und Dave the Chimp geben. Alles wie immer strengstens limitiert und von Hand gedruckt! Ausserdem wird es einige Exemplare seines neuen Buches aus er Reihe »Part of Rebellion« zu kaufen geben, exklusiv und Handsigniert! Die Vernissage findet am 20. Juni ab 20 Uhr wie immer in der Wohlwillstraße 48 statt, kühle Getränke und deftige Beats von DJ Lucky Drama (Blockparty Entertainment, Wu-tal) inklusive. Dave the Chimp We are very proud to present you this months guest at Woolwill, Dave the Chimp! The London based artist, now living in Berlin will be exhibiting at our store from June 20th until July 11th. Dave the Chimp is well known among the international Street Art scene and famous for his intelligent and humorous »City improvements«. Woolwill will be showing an exclusive choice of his little orange friends, the »Human Bein’s«, accompanied by two new T-shirt designs and – as a very special feature – backpacks, accessoires and dresses designed in collaboration by Superhorstjansen and Dave the Chimp. As always, everything highly limited and hand printed, of course! On top of that we will also be selling a limited, signed amount of his brand new book from the series »Part of Rebellion«. The vernissage opens it’s doors for you on June 20th from 8 pm, as always at Wohlwillstraße 48, including cold drinks and wicked beats by DJ Lucky Drama (Blockparty Entertainment, Wu-tal).
